Concepting

At this point of the process, we had worked through a few rounds of honing in on the brand identity. We established that Lucem is seeking a modern, sleek, and data-driven look. We were provided with copy and general design direction. Since we were working on a tight timeline with multiple deliverables, we skipped creating sketches and lo-fi wireframes.

Iterating

The client chose Sid's concept so we both went off to iterate on her original wireframe based on the feedback they provided. We added ways to represent the leadership team and a quote from their CEO.

Adding More Pages

With a few more edits to make, the landing page was in a good place. It was time to start drafting additional pages. My focus was on finding a solution for showcasing various professionals and industries Lucem will partner with. We tried a vertical rotator and a horizontal rotator.

Biggest Takeaways

A big learning experience during my time at McGuffin was to understand that my concepts won't always be chosen, but it's not necessarily because I'm not a good designer. With each stage of the Lucem client-work we did, my concepts didn't get chosen. It was tough at times, but I was always excited to learn from the concepts that did get chosen, and I had the opportunity to collaborate with such talented designers to workshop their assets together to produce such a fulfilling end product.
